24 - 31 Jul 2010, Sat - Sat. PCT at Buck Creek. Wenatchee NF, Wenatchee River RD, Glacier Peak Wilderness. (Difficult 5 mi Backpack, Spaces Remaining: 5.) Glacier Peak Wilderness, northwest of Lake Wenatchee. You can barely see Glacier Peak from the westside of the Cascades. Not so from the Buck Creek Trail - where it looms over you like a white monolith. Add to that fields of late summer flowers and a pleasant afternoon breeze and you may be close to rapture. The Buck Creek Trail is the current route of the Pacific Crest Trail, and the through hikers will be most appreciative of our smoothing out some of the rougher spots along their way. A trip to the pass on the day off provides a punctuation mark to the week. This is one of our Volunteer Vacations. There is $165 fee ($125 for WTA members). You will be required to fill out an application form: 24 - 31 Jul This is a week-long work party. You must be 18 years or older to attend. Participants must be able to attend all days. Late arrivals and early departures are not allowed.
