6 - 13 Aug 2011, Sat - Sat. Pacific Crest Trail at Pear Lake. Wenatchee River RD, Glacier Peak Wilderness. (Difficult, 6-mile backpack.) Peaches and Pears in a high alpine wilderness? You will find it here: Peach Lake, Pear Lake, a garden of wildflowers, an easy climb up Fortune Mountain. While the hike in is a bit tough, the destination is worthy of the perspiration you will have left on the trail. The work is on the Pacific Crest Trail, going north from Pear Lake and fairly close by camp, within a couple miles. The trail tread has deteriorated over the past several years, and the week will be spent restoring this tread, doing some brushing and building some rock structures. This is one of our Volunteer Vacations. There is $235 fee ($195 for WTA members). You will be required to fill out an application form including your outdoors experience and medical history before we can allow you to join the trip. Trip application .
