1 - 10 Aug 2011, Mon - 2nd Wed. Duck Creek. Inyo National Forest, near Mammoth Lakes, CA. Volunteers will accompany a Student Conservation Association crew as they log out and remove blowdowns on this beautiful section of trail. This will be a backcountry project. Volunteers will backpack their personal gear 5.2 miles to basecamp. This project is rated as advanced (volunteers will need to hike 0.1 to 4 miles to the worksite each day at 10,250 ft elevation; this project is recommened to fit volunteers looking for a physcial challenge). Volunteers can take advantage of the surrounding lakes and creeks for swimming and fishing. There's also excellent hiking. **PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO THE SNOWPACK AND RECENT SNOWFALL, THE PROJECT LOCATION MAY CHANGE. IT WILL BE IN THE NEARBY VICINITY BUT AT A LOWER ELEVATION.
