20 - 27 Jun 2011 Mon - Mon. Rock House Basin. Bakersfield BLM, near Inyokern, CA. Five volunteer positions are available to join the Student Conservation Association in Benching, widening tread, and retaining downslope side of trail that was damaged by rock fall. Camping is backcountry. Fitness Requirement: Level 3. Advanced fitness levels. Volunteers will need to backpack their personal gear 4.5 miles to base camp and then hike 0.1 to 3 miles to the project site each day. Suitable for fit volunteers looking for a physical challenge.
