24 - 30 Jul 2011, Sun - Sat. Big Ridge Tread Rehab. Klamath National Forest, near Seiad Valley, CA. The crew will be rehabbing PCT tread from the Northern extent of the Marble Mountain Wilderness on Big Ridge north into the Cold Spring Valley. The work will be connecting previous year's work completed by a PCTA NWSA crew and PCTA Lyons' Pride volunteer crew. Meals, training, and safety equipment are provided. Four volunteer positions are available; leaders will be Student Conservation Association Staff. Front country car camping; hiking distance from camp to project site is about 2 miles. Fitness Requirement: Level 3. Advanced fitness levels. Project may include longer hikes of 5 miles or more, backpacking, significant elevation change, strenuous work activities and/or need for prior backcountry experience.
