21 - 30 Apr 2011, Fri - 2nd Sun. Mt. Jenkins Part 2. BLM Bakersfield, near Inyokern, CA. Volunteers will continue part 2 of this project by joining the Student Conservation Association as they work on benching, widening tread, and retaining down hill side of trail that was damaged by recent rock fall. Five volunteer positions are available. Backcountry camping, with a 5-mile hiking distance to camp. Hiking distance from camp to the project site is 0.1 - 4 miles. Fitness Requirement is Level 3: backpacking, significant elevation change, strenuous work activities and/or need for prior backcountry experience. Suitable for fit volunteers looking for a physical challenge. Other Things To Do in the Area: excellent hiking with easy access points in the Owens Peak Wilderness area, within which the project site is located. Questions? Ready to Register?
