6 - 9 Sep 2010, Mon - Thu. Bear Creek to Lookout Creek. Plumas NF, Near Quincy, CA. Located in the Plumas National Forest, near Quincy, CA, volunteers will have the opportunity to join the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship crew while conducting trail maintenance and restoration on the PCT from Bear Creek toward Lookout Rock. Volunteers can come out for the day or the full trip! The crew will be hiking 1-8 mi daily with considerable elevation gain and camping along the trail. The basecamp may change as the crew works down the trail. Elevation is 3500 to 5500 ft. No experience necessary; tools, training, and food will be provided. This project is recommended for volunteers with advanced fitness levels due to significant elevation change and/or strenuous work activities. Advance registration is required.
