PCTA Northern Sierra Region: Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship

13 - 16 Sep 2010, Mon - Thu. Fowler Peak. Plumas NF, Near Quincy, CA. Located in the Plumas National Forest, near Quincy, CA, volunteers will have the opportunity to work with the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship crew conducting trail maintenance and restoration. Volunteers can come out for the day or the full trip! This will include general tread and drainage maintenance between Fowler Peak and the Quincy - La Porte Rd. The crew will be hiking 1-8 mi daily and camping along the trail. The base camp may change as the crew works down the trail. Elevation is approximately 5000 to 6000 ft. The crew will hike 1-8 mi daily to get to the worksite. No experience necessary; tools, training, and food will be provided. This project is recommended for volunteers with with intermediate fitness levels due to small elevation changes and/or moderately physical work activities. Advance registration is required.
