8 - 11 Oct 2010, Fri - Mon. (Weekend Trip!) Siskiyou Crest - Red Mountain, Part 2. Rogue River Siskiyou NF, Near Ashland, OR. Located in the Rogue River Siskiyou National Forest, near Ashland, OR, this is a weekend opportunity to join the full-length crew project previously listed. Volunteers will join the Northwest Service Academy AmeriCorps crew rehab tread west of Mt Ashland on the Siskiyou Crest in the vicinity of Red Mountain. Volunteers will meet on Fri evening to set up camp and spend a full day Sat and part of Sun working on the PCT. The crew will be camped off of a USFS road (accessible by car) and will hike in up to 3 mi to the worksite each day. No experience necessary. All meals, tools, and training are provided by the PCTA. This project is recommended for volunteers with intermediate fitness levels due to small elevation changes and/or moderately physical work activities. Advance registration is required.
