31 Aug - 12 Sep 2010, Tue - 2nd Sun. Marble Mountain Wilderness. SORRY, PROJECT IS FULL. Klamath NF, Near Etna, CA. Located in the Klamath National Forest, near Etna, CA, volunteers will be able to enjoy this beautiful area while working with the Northwest Service Academy Crew conducting tread rehab in various sites north of Shelley Meadows. Volunteers will be meeting on the evening of 31 Aug and camping at the trailhead. On the following day, the crew will be assisted by pack stock as they backpack in approximately 5 mi to a backcountry camp near Shelley Meadows. The volunteers will then hike 2 mi to the worksite each day. No experience necessary. All meals, tools, and training are provided by the PCTA. This project is recommended for advanced fitness levels due to the high elevation, moderately physical work activities, and the amount of walking that will need to be performed to access the various worksites.
