26. 12 - 29 Mar 2008, Sun - Sat. Vasquez Rocks County Park, California. (Volunteers Reqd. 12, Work Level Moderate, Daypacking, Airport Pickup) Vasquez Rocks is in the town of Agua Dulce which is an arid desert environment. The Park contains some of the most unusual and beautiful geological structures in Southern California. It is well known for it's geological features and historical significance. Parts of the canyon burned in the summer of 2007, but the majority remained green and lush on the canyon floor. While we be working from the underpass under Hwy14 trail north, but due to the landscape and vegetation one hardly notices the road. While we will be working in Vasquez Rocks, we will be staying at the famous Hiker Heaven, owned by Jeff and Donna Saufley. Their home is a well-known and well-loved stop for all the PCT thru-hikers along their journey. Click here for more info.
