3 Apr 2011, Sun. Near Old Hatfield Wilderness Boundary. Columbia River Gorge NSA, Oregon side. Here's a fun work party on a section of the PCT below the snowline. Who: No Experience Required - Gentle Hiking. What: Trail widening and brushing. When: Sunday, 3 April - 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Where: Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Oregon side, 1/2 mile south of the Old Hatfield Wilderness Boundary. Why: This is a short section of the trail that has not had any attention for some years. The trail to the south had significant work done last summer. This is the 3rd crew this year and we hope to link the sections of reconstructed tread. Bring lunch, rain gear, and 2 pair of gloves. We will bring all the tools and safety gear needed.
