9 - 12 Sep 2011, Fri - Mon. Windigo-Skyline: Koosah. Deschutes NF: Bend / Ft Rock RD and Willamette NF: McKenzie RD, near Bend, OR. Join the Windigo Crew in an effort to connect years of trail work in the area near Koosah Mountain. We will be replacing failing water bars and reconstructing cupped sections of tread. Camping will be at the trailhead since water is scarce on the trail. Meals, training, and safety equipment are provided. Ten volunteer positions are available; leaders will be PCTA Staff. Camping is frontcountry car camping. Hiking distance from camp to project site is 1.5 to 3 miles. Fitness Requirement: Level 2. Intermediate fitness levels. Project may include moderate hiking of more than 2 miles to the worksite, moderate elevation change over 500 ft and/or moderately physical work activities. This level is suitable for most volunteers who are in good physical condition. Most people who are physically active can perform at this level.
