8 - 12 Sep 2011, Thu - Mon. Windigo-Skyline: South Diamond Peak #1. Willamette NF: Middle Fork RD near Oakridge, OR. Join the Skyline Crew for one or both of the tours to the south end of Diamond Peak Wilderness. We will be doing a total trail overhaul including drainage remediation, de-berming, dip, water bar, and check step construction, and micro-realignments. Meals, training, and safety equipment are provided. Ten volunteer positions are available; leaders will be PCTA Staff. Camping is backcountry; pack stock assistance used for tools and kitchen supplies. Hiking distance to camp is 3 miles. Hiking distance from camp to project site is 0.25 to 1.5 miles. Fitness Requirement: Level 3. Advanced fitness levels. Project may include longer hikes of 5 miles or more, backpacking, significant elevation change, strenuous work activities and/or need for prior backcountry experience.
