3-6 Sep 2010, Fri - Mon. Crater Lake. Crater Lake NP. Volunteers will have the unique opportunity to join the PCTA and Crater Lake Trust in maintaining a part of the trail in the beautiful Crater Lake National Park. The trail crew will work on a variety of projects, including: repairing and constructing waterbars, check dams, and stone walls, conducting tread maintenance, brushing, and replacing signs. Volunteers will arrive to Crater Lake on the evening of 3 Sep for dinner and backpack in 6 mi to a backcountry campsite the following morning. Pack stock assistance will be available. The daily hike to the worksite will be 3-5 mi. No experience necessary. Meals, park entrance fees, tools, and training are provided throughout the project. This project is recommended for volunteers with advanced fitness levels due to significant elevation change and/or strenuous work activities. Advance registration is required.
