16 - 18 Sep 2011, Fri - Sun. Benson Hut. Tahoe NF: Truckee RD, near Truckee, CA. The PCTA volunteer crew will perform tread maintenance, clean and repair drainage structures, and open the trail corridor to standard using hand tools. Meals, safety equipment, and training are provided. Eight volunteer positions are available; trail crew leader is Dave Duncan, PCTA Volunteer. Car camping is at a developed campground; hiking distance from camp to project site is 1 to 4 miles. Fitness Requirement: Level 3. Advanced fitness levels. Hiking distance from camp to project site will be 4-6 miles, significant elevation change, strenuous work activities and/or need for prior backcountry experience.
