26 - 28 Aug 2011, Fri - Sun. Echo Summit South. Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, near South Lake Tahoe, CA. The PCTA volunteer crew will perform heavy tread and drainage maintenance and construction of rock structures: check steps, rock water bars, rock reinforced drain dips. Meals, safety equipment, and training are provided. Eight volunteer positions are available; trail crew leaders are PCTA staff. Car camping is at a developed campground; hiking distance from camp to project site is 1 to 4 miles. Fitness Requirement: Level 2. Intermediate fitness levels. Project may include moderate hiking of more than 2 miles to the worksite, moderate elevation change over 500 ft and/or moderately physical work activities. This level is suitable for most volunteers who are in good physical condition. Most people who are physically active can perform at this level. Questions? Ready to register?
