20 - 21 Aug 2011, Sat - Sun. Blue Lakes Road South. Humboldt-Toiyabe NF: Carson RD, near South Lake Tahoe, CA. The PCTA volunteer crew will perform tread maintenance, clean and repair drainage structures, repair rock structures such as check steps, water bars and rock reinforced drain dips, and open the trail corridor to standard using hand tools. Meals, safety equipment, and training are provided. Ten volunteer positions are available; trail crew leaders are John and Jan LePouvoir, PCTA Volunteers. Car camping is at a developed campground; hiking distance from camp to project site is 1 to 3 miles. Fitness Requirement: Level 2. Intermediate fitness levels. Project may include moderate hiking of more than 2 miles to the worksite, moderate elevation change over 500 ft and/or moderately physical work activities. This level is suitable for most volunteers who are in good physical condition. Most people who are physically active can perform at this level. Questions? Ready to register?
