21 - 25 Sep 2011, Wed - Sun. White Rock - Paradise Valley. Tahoe NF: Truckee RD, near Truckee, CA. The PCTA volunteer crew will perform tread maintenance and repair the approaches to both the White Rock and Paradise Valley bridges using hand tools. Meals, safety equipment, and training are provided. Eight volunteer positions are available; trail crew leader is Jodi Bailey, PCTA Volunteer. Camp will be backcountry, with hiking distance 3 miles. Hiking distance from camp to project site is 1 to 3 miles. Fitness Requirement:Level 3. Advanced fitness levels. Project may include longer hikes of 5 miles or more, backpacking, significant elevation change, strenuous work activities and/or need for prior backcountry experience.
