18 - 25 Jul 2009, Sat - Sat. Wolf Creek Headwaters. Humboldt-Toiyabe NF, Carson RD, Carson-Iceberg Wilderness, Map J3. (15 Volunteers, Moderate to Strenuous Trail Work, Backpack.) Restore the trail tread on 1/2 mi of the PCT from the Wolf Creek headwaters S. We will camp near the work site. Volunteers backpack personal gear including a tent, sleeping gear, and hygiene items to camp, distance 3.6 mi on easy to moderate trail. Packer support is available to transport tools, equipment, and food. Arrive Fri pm (17 Jul) or NLT 7:30 am Sat at Highland Lakes Campground for breakfast and departure to work area. Work days are Sat (18 Jul) thru Fri (24 Jul). On Sat break camp after breakfast and hike out. Volunteers need long pants and shirts with sleeves, stout leather boots, gloves, eye pro. Nights are at or near freezing temps. Driving directions to Highland Lakes CG: 1 1/2 mi W of Ebbetts Pass a small sign on S side of Hwy-4 points to Highland Lakes. Take this turnoff. At 1 mi is the Bloomfield CG but pass this and continue a total of 6 mi to the Highland Lakes CG. The dirt road here is passable by all but the lowest cars.
