Carson-Sonora Area Projects
11 - 20 Jul 2008, Fri - Sun. Pennsylvania Creek. Toiyabe NF, Mokelumne Wilderness (15 Volunteers, Backpack 5 mi). Meet Fri pm at Bloomfield Forest Service campground just below the Ebbett's pass trailhead. The crew will get an early start on
Sat for a 6.5-mi backpack through mountainous terrain to a pleasant
campsite on Pennsylvania Creek. The kitchen, food and tools will be packed in to camp. Work will entail swinging picks to widen sections of the trail tread where the PCT crosses steep volcanic sideslopes. Volunteers will feel the satisfaction of covering a lot of ground and leaving a safer more enjoyable trail. A day off midweek will allow time to explore nearby Raymond Lake, climb to a high point or just wash your socks and relax around camp. Project ends with packing out on Sun.
