29 Apr - 5 May 2010, Thu - Wed. Manter Burn - Long Valley Loop. Mt. Jenkins Wilderness, BLM Bakersfield. Maps G5,6. Clear deadfalls and hazard trees for 8-12 mi from E edge of Manter Burn to Domeland Wilderness Boundary. Do spot tread repair as necessary. Camp at rock quarry off Long Valley Loop Road. Project crew arrive Thu pm, (1st meal Thu dinner). Work Fri - Tue, depart Wed am 5 May (last meal Wed breakfast). Dry campsite so bring as much potable water as you can conveniently carry. Driving directions: From Hwy-14 take Kennedy Meadows turnoff (about 2 mi N of Pearsonville). Drive up Nine Mile Grade and then to the Chimney Peak BLM Fire station. Just beyond, turn L on Chimney Peak - Canebrake Road. Drive 5.5 mi to junction with Long Valley Loop Road; flagged turnoff will be on the R. Turn R and drive 14.2 mi to quarry campsite.
