The Ouachita National Recreation Trail stretches 223 miles through the beautiful Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas and Oklahoma. The "Ouachita Trail," as it is more commonly known, runs from Talimena State Park in Oklahoma to Pinnacle Mountain State Park, near Little Rock, Arkansas. It is a premier trail asset for hikers, backpackers, and mountain bikers. "Friends of the Ouachita Trail" (FoOT) is a non-profit organization created by trail users to maintain the Ouachita National Recreation Trail. If you would like to help with trail maintenance, but really don't want the responsibility of adopting your own section of the Ouachita Trail, you can come to any maintenance outing as a guest volunteer or you can join the "Dreaded FoOT Patrol". Why "Dreaded"? It started out as a joke and just stuck.
